Scan to give a stamp

For:OwnerAdminStaff2 min readAll plansUpdated Sep 28, 2026

When a customer visits, scan the QR code they show you in the Lola app and the stamp is added to their loyalty card on its own. There's nothing to type.

When you're done, you'll be able to
  • Give a stamp by scanning the customer's QR
  • Spot when the customer unlocks a reward or completes their card
  • Fix a repeated, expired or unreadable code
Lola Business app · /app/scan

Open the scanner

In the Lola Business app, tap Scan on the home screen. It’s the big card at the top that says Customer QR · stamp or coupon.

The first time, your phone asks for permission to use the camera. Allow it: without the camera you can’t scan.

Scan the customer's QR

Ask the customer to open their QR code in the Lola app, or in your business’s App Clip. Center the code in the frame: the app reads it on its own and the frame turns green for a moment. There’s nothing else to tap.

If the light is low, tap the flashlight button at the top right. If the customer shows you a coupon instead of their QR, the app takes you to the redeem screen on its own.

What about the Enter code link?

It’s for redeeming a coupon with its 6-digit code. Stamps don’t have a code: you always give them by scanning the QR.

Check the stamp

You’ll see Recording stamp… and, right after, Stamp recorded! with the customer’s progress, for example 5 of 10 stamps. If their name shows up, check it with them.

  • If that visit comes with a reward, you’ll see Reward unlocked! with the reward’s name. The customer redeems it later by showing you the coupon in their app.
  • If that stamp completed the card, you’ll see Card complete!.

Tap Scan next to serve the next customer without leaving the scanner, or Finish to go back home.

Spot a repeated code

Already registered means that same QR already added its stamp, so nothing was added this time: the progress shows in yellow and doesn’t change. It happens, for example, if you scan the same code twice.

If the customer should get another stamp, ask them to refresh their QR in the app and scan it again. If you’re not sure, History shows every stamp that was given.

Fix a scan that doesn't go through

  • QR code expired: the customer’s code lasts a few minutes and the Lola app refreshes it on its own. If they showed you an old one, like a screenshot, ask them to open their QR again and tap Scan again.
  • Unrecognized code: it isn’t a Lola customer code. Ask for the QR from the Lola app or the App Clip and tap Scan again.
  • Camera access required: the app isn’t allowed to use the camera. Turn it on in your phone’s settings and tap Try again.
  • Error: something failed while saving, such as the connection. Tap Try again and scan once more.
